ABOUT THE CARDIAC ALLIANCE
1 in every 40 deaths in children under 1 year of age is due to a heart defect, mostly because there is a worldwide shortage of cardiac surgeons.
The William Novick Global Cardiac Alliance (NCA) is a 501c3 non-governmental organization (NGO) that treats children around the world suffering from congenital or acquired heart disease in low and middle income countries (LMIC) with nascent or altogether absent pediatric cardiac resources. Through our partner organizations and international alliances, NCA surgeons, clinicians and nurses provide world-class, sustainable pediatric cardiac care – including open-heart surgery – free of charge, saving children’s lives, empowering families and creating a positive and enduring impact on societies and countries.Dr. William Novick, a renowned pediatric heart surgeon, origin story begins at age nine, during the civil rights uprising in Montgomery, Alabama, where his family experienced racial injustice firsthand. This awareness led Dr. Novick to champion as many marginalized groups in society and how it ultimately forged a global vision to serve children regardless of their race, color or religion.WE NEED YOUR HELP to purchase supplies and offset travel costs for our volunteers.
Even the smallest donation helps and can make a big difference. The Cardiac Alliance is looking forward to keeping all of you updated along the way so you can see all the good your donations are doing. If you’d like more information on NCA's mission, vision, and work, please stay tuned for a video of the upcoming documentary called Tiny Hearts or visit our website at Novick Cardiac Alliance.
