1 in every 40 deaths in children under 1 year of age is due to a heart defect, mostly because there is a worldwide shortage of cardiac surgeons.

The Global Cardiac Alliance (GCA) is a 501c3 non-governmental organization (NGO) that treats children around the world suffering from congenital or acquired heart disease in low and middle income countries (LMIC) with nascent or altogether absent pediatric cardiac resources.Through our partner organizations and international alliances, GCA surgeons, clinicians and nurses provide world-class, sustainable pediatric cardiac care – including open-heart surgery – free of charge, saving children’s lives, empowering families and creating a positive and enduring impact on societies and countries.
